Agritourism

Agricultural & Nature Tourism is the engine that drives Calaveras County prosperity. From apples  to olive oil and blueberries to beef people who live in urban areas want to know where their food is grown and locals want to support neighboring farms.

Successful agritourism operations here include large wineries like Kautz Ironstone Vineyards, medium-sized ranches like California Cashmere and small, thriving truck farms like Metzger Farms. These businesses and all the members of Calaveras Grown know the value of sharing their farms and ranches with the public in order to educate people about the importance of agriculture in California.
